Nintendo’s latest addition to their amiibo line-up is not just for looks. We saw their debut trailer and have seen them up close through their high resolution images. Now for the first time ever, Squid Sisters Callie and Marie sang their hearts out in this live concert performance during Niconico Tokaigi 2016 – a major gaming event in Japan. Watch the sisters do their sleek moves in this half hour performance. Frankly speaking, it is really impressive. Check this out.
Featuring a Wii U kind of display, the crowd roared in delight as the Squid Sisters welcomed the audience gathered in Makuhari Messe Convention Center in Chiba City, Japan. The cheers finally went full crescendo when their images were projected on stage as they perform more than 5 catchy and familiar tunes. It’s a delightful crossover between the digital online gaming world and real life performance.
Hosting the hugely popular Splatoon Splatfest, Callie and Marie is now getting the amiibo treatment together with a re-colored set of the Splatoon Inklings. These recent additions to Nintendo’s widely popular amiibo line-up is due for release on July 8, 2016.

It seems that LEGO’s take to the toys-to-life scene is going to turn a new page with what most fans refer to as Series 2 of LEGO Dimensions. We are still in a contemplative mood on what the speculated new series will look like following the reveal of Supergirl and Green Lantern. This time around, news is steadily building around a predicted, soon-to-be-added character to LEGO Dimensions in the person of the fastest hedgehog on the face planet.
Stemming from a rumor way back in September 2015 where an alleged list (leak?) of placeholder names for future LEGO Dimensions packs made its way online, one particular placeholder that goes by 71244 S1 was initially thought of belonging to SEGA’s Sonic the Hedgehog. However, as the months prodded along, news became scant about this. Disclaimer: unfortunately, we cannot publish the full list right here for everyone to see. But if you’re really raving to find out what’s in them, there are plenty of sources on the internet that will lead you to this.
Now just recently, LEGO insider CM4Sci over at Eurobricks dished out another hefty serving of a teaser when he said with conviction that Sonic is indeed coming to LEGO Dimensions. To quote CM4Sci, “I also know for a fact Sonic is in if that confirms anything.” As much as I would like to take things with a grain of salt with this one, CM4Sci’s announcements are like words from a prophet within the LEGO fan community. Several mainstream LEGO and gaming blogsites have already cited CM4Sci’s claim, including The Brick Fan, Brick Fanatics in the UK, the Brink Inquirer, and Nintendo Everything just to name a few.
To wrap it up, this is what has been strongly predicted so far to be part of LEGO Dimensions Series 2:
Supergirl, considering that LEGO has confirmed her already. She is said to make a debut in this year Electronic Entertainment Expo (E3) in mid June of this year.
Green Lantern, since we have two in-game videos that were discovered already.
Sonic the Hedgehog
Knight Rider (speculations are strong with this one, though not necessarily welcomed by some).
Adventure Time, this may be an offshoot of a potential partnership with Cartoon Network.
Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them
Teen Titans GO!
Again, exciting as this may sound for most of us, we encourage you to put things in perspective – that these are all rumors until we see or hear LEGO’s official announcement about them. We also expect more news to come, especially that we’re roughly months away from E3 and San Diego Comic Con in July.
Yep, we have found him alright! We now have what seems to be our very first official image of the much talked about Disney Infinity figure that will go along with the presumed Finding Dory Playset. We now see the pieces slowly falling into place. After the ‘unintentional’ appearance of Dory on a macaroni box last March, and the recent listings of foreign retailers’ sites about a Disney Infinity ‘Nemo’ figure, today’s find puts the final nail in the coffin so to speak.
Amazon.mx has listed this latest Disney Infinity figure that comes with two bonus Power Discs. We’re not quite sure if this is a mistake so we’re posting a screenshot here in case the page will be eventually removed and be replaced with an ‘oops sorry, someone messed up’ page.
As of this writing, there is neither a price indicated nor pre-orders mentioned on Amazon.mx’s site for this Disney Infinity Nemo, hence no announced date of release.
What is interesting though is the fact that this Nemo figure comes bundled with two Power Discs labelled as ‘Nemo’s Seascape’ and ‘Marlin’s Reef Power Disc’ as seen above. Does this mean Marlin will also debut in Disney Infinity 3.0? This and a lot more questions are expected to be answered once the next edition of Disney Infinity NEXT kicks in.
Thank you Disney Infinity Codes for this great tip!
A while ago, we saw how more than 30 amiibos function in Kirby Planet Robobot. Thanks to GameXplain, we now know that third-party amiibos such as Shovel Knight, Ryu and Sonic for example, are considered as unregistered in the game’s database and will randomly unlock a copy ability instead. Only those that are directly produced by Nintendo are guaranteed to produce a specific copy ability based on that amiibo’s prominent feature. Missing from their walk-through, however, are the latest Kirby amiibos which we are quite familiar already as it is prominently featured in Nintendo’s website dedicated to the pink puffball.
The guys over at MyGamingBoulevard have a different question in mind: how will the latest Kirby amiibos function in other amiibo supported games, in this case, Super Smash Bros? They came up with this unboxing video and found the answer themselves. Watch this.
Straight out of the box, the latest amiibos of Kirby, King Dedede, Meta Knight, and Waddle Dee (the Japanese versions) are quite different from their previous ones, with a more comic and Dreamland feel-for the latter. Furthermore, as we can see, the new Kirby line of amiibos is compatible, and functions accordingly with Super Smash Bros for the Wii U. It unlocks their Smash Bros counterpart, similar to that of the previous amiibos, though we were somehow hoping that new content or iteration of the Kirby characters will be unlocked or revealed.
The latest Kirby themed amiibos are now available in Japan, with a release date in the US scheduled on June 10. Kirby Planet Robobot for the3DS will also hit US stores also on the said date.
After Nintendo’s big announcement that added more tasty colors to the amiibo landscape last weekend, it seems that we have additional figures to watch out for with the Squid Sisters Callie and Marie amiibos. The dancing and rocking duet are joined by a recolored edition of the current Splatoon amiibo line-up of Inkling Girl, Inkling Boy and Inkling Squid. We saw its teaser trailer, and now Nintendo has uploaded several hi-resolution images that show the new ‘tasty textures’ and ‘delicious details’ of these amiibos up-close. Take a look by clicking on the images.
Tapping these amiibos either in the Wii U or 3DS will allow you to see fresh performances from the Squid Sisters, and other in game features that will surely add more color to the world of Splatoon. The Callie and Marie amiibos will be available individually in Japan and Europe starting July 7 and 8 respectively. In the US, they will be offered in a 2-pack bundle retailing at $24.99 beginning on July 8 as well.
The recolored versions of the original Splatoon Inkling Trio will be available for retail at $12.99 each, with a three-pack bundle for $34.99. These amiibos are also set to be released on July 8. We just hope that Nintendo will have plenty of these in stock.
Thanks to My Nintendo News for heads up.
Nintendo UK recently uploaded several new trailers via their YouTube channel to celebrate the release of the much awaited Yo-Kai Watch in Europe, and Mini Mario and Friends Amiibo Challenge both in North America and Europe as well. Yo-kai Watch has been out in other international territories for a while and to celebrate the arrival of the yokais in Europe via the 3DS, Nintendo specifically came up with these two videos – the first featuring the yokais’ theme song while the second one shows some of the game mechanics and gameplay.
Mini Mario & Friends Amiibo Challenge is officially available starting today at Nintendo’s North American and European eShops. Similarly, they came up with a trailer to show some of the highlights of the game. Mini Mario & Friends Amiibo Challenge is available both on the Wii U and 3DS systems.
Thanks Nintendo Everything for the heads up.
A couple of weeks ago, we covered much of what to expect from our little pink puff ball in Nintendo’s Kirby Planet Robobot. With more than 25 of Kirby’s copy abilities to be discovered and unlocked, plus 10 Robobot Armor Modes to smash through alien tech hardware, it kind of make you wonder how all 100+ amiibos will work in this newest Nintendo 3DS game.
The good guys over at Team GameXplain were kind enough to give us an idea how this will actually turn out by tapping in 33 amiiibos that they currently own. Though it’s roughly a third of all known amiibos that there is, what we discovered is pretty interesting. Some of these we came to know already through Nintendo’s website dedicated to Kirby Planet Robobot. Watch this.
As GameXplain discovered, certain amiibos that belong to a same theme or set produces similar results. This is a rundown of what they have demonstrated so far.
A new copy ability unique to Kirby Planet Robobot is ESP Kirby which can be unlocked by tapping in: Mew Two, Shulk, Lucas.
Sword Kirby can be unlocked by tapping in: Link, Lucina, Ike, Marth, and Roy. It can be assumed that the amiibos belonging to the Fire Emblem game will eventually give you the Sword Kirby ability, with exception of Robin.
Archer Kirby can be unlocked by tapping in: Dark Pit, Pit, and Duck Hunt. Other amiibos related to any shooting games will probably give the Archer Kirby ability as well.
Leaf Kirby can be unlocked by tapping in: Villager (from Animal Crossing), and Olimar. The rest of the amiibo figures from the Animal Crossing series such as Isabelle, Mabel, or Rover may likewise have the same effect.
Whip Kirby can be unlocked by tapping in: Zero Suit Samus, and Yarn Yoshi (Green). This can be true to the rest of the Yarn Yoshi amiibos regardless of the color.
Another copy ability unique to Planet Robobot is the Poison Kirby which can be unlocked by tapping in: Inkling Squid, Inkling Boy and probably Inkling Girl as well.
Fire Kirby can be unlocked by tapping in: Mario 30th Anniversary Classic Color, Luigi (Super Mario Classic) and the rest of Mario Bros. version with the exception of, presumably, of Dr. Mario which is expected to unlock the Doctor abilty.
The rest of the amiibo figures that GameXplain tested resulted in the following copy abilities:
Robin – unlocks Spark Kirby
Fox – unlocks Jet Kirby
R.O.B. NES – unlocks Beam Kirby
Mr. Game & Watch – unlocks Circus Kirby
Dedede (Smash Bros) – unlocks a yellow-colored Hammer Kirby
Kirby (Smash Bros) – unlocks Smash Kirby
Palutena – unlocks Mirror Kirby
Samus – unlocks Bomb Kirby
Little Mac – unlocks Fighter Kirby
As it turns out, amiibos that belong to a third-party game developer will return an ‘amiibo not registered’ message and will give a random Kirby copy ability. This was tested using amiibos such as Sonic, Ryu, Shovel Knight, Megaman and Pacman. Furthermore, the Nintendo 3DS will only allow you to scan 10 amiibos in one day, but as GameXplain demonstrated the limit can be bypassed by adjusting the clock in the 3DS.
Kirby Planet Robobot already made its debut in Japan last Thursday, April 28 and will expect to hit North America and Europe on June 10, and in Australia on June 11. So what do you think, what is your best guess for other amiibo figures not mentioned here? How do you think they will function in Kirby Planet Robobot? Drop us a note in the comments section below.
Last Saturday, Nintendo totally threw a fast one on us when they introduced a new pair of amiibo figures that will surely add more fun and color to the wild and wacky world of Splatoon. Meet the Squid Sisters Callie and Marie – a colorful and refreshing addition to the ever-growing line-up of Nintendo amiibos. Nintendo of Europe via their official Tweeter account, made the announcement last Saturday, April 30.
The Callie and Marie amiibos will be available individually in Japan and Europe starting July 7 and 8 respectively. In the US, they will be offered in a 2-pack bundle retailing at $24.99 beginning on July 8 as well. Watch this teaser from Nintendo.
As we see from the video, tapping these amiibos either in the Wii U or 3DS will allow you to see fresh performances from the Squid Sisters. For sure there will be other in game features that these amiibos will do, and we’ll surely keep you posted as new information comes in.
As an added treat, Nintendo will also be releasing a revised color scheme for the current Inkling amiibos which will be offered in the US in 2 and 3-pack bundles. The Inklings seemed to have a retro-neon make over with this one.
These latest reveals from Nintendo surely set the amiibo community frenzied over the weekend. What are your thoughts on this? Do you like these latest amiibos? Share your thoughts in the comments section below.

Here’s another Disney Infinity Marvel Battlegrounds strategy video for us to enjoy. Rocket Raccoon is proof that being small is never a liability when you’re in the world of Disney Infinity. This gun-slinging chap may not have the brute strength of the Hulkbuster or the close combat agility of Black Panther and Ant Man, but he sure knows how to make things difficult for his opponents.
A product of strange, genetic experiments, Rocket Raccoon is a feisty gun-wielding member of the Guardians of the Galaxy. Rocket Raccoon is the fastest fighter in Marvel Battlegrounds and excels at delivering a bevy of ranged attacks before slipping away to avoid any direct confrontation. Players that find pleasure in harassing their opponents with annoying ranged attacks, daring escapes and quick footwork will love playing as Rocket Raccoon. Let’s watch this.
As a weapons specialist, Rocket is unparalleled at ranged combat with the ability to pepper enemies from afar with his regular ranged attack, or to do an explosive area of effect damage with his charged ranged attack. Rocket can take on individual opponents or multiple enemies all at once. Taking advantage of his fast evade roll and movement speed is critical in staying one step ahead of his enemies as his slow melee attacks won’t do much good against larger opponents.
To give himself some breathing room, Rocket can use his charged melee attack to jump away from opponents while unleashing a few grenades. Rocket’s charged ranged attack is also very effective at destroying the Arena. Want to accelerate progress to the next stage? Just fire a few charged shots at the environment.
Rocket’s Special Attack is an explosive three-shot volley, that targets one enemy for massive damage. These explosive shots affect the small area around the target, so hitting an enemy that’s nearby is a bonus.

Earlier this month, we reported on the likely inclusion of another set of superheroes to be added to the roster of LEGO Dimensions characters. The report mentioned the listing of certain pieces in LEGO’s Replacement Parts service which were suspected to belong to DC Comics’ Super Girl. In addition to that, a video was uploaded to YouTube showing the LEGO Dimensions gameplay for Super Girl and Green Arrow.
As it turns out, we now have confirmation that Supergirl will indeed be a part of the next wave of LEGO Dimensions characters hopefully just in time for June’s E3 gaming event. A building guide for LEGO Dimension’s Supergirl can now be downloaded from LEGO servers as reported by BricksFans, with a set number of 71340. Brickset has already updated their database to include this set as well. It can be noticed that the head and hair on this minifigure closely matches that of the pieces found in LEGO replacement service.
Though Supergirl’s LEGO Dimensions iteration is somehow similar to her minifigure found in LEGO DC Comics Super Heroes Brainiac Attack 76040 particularly with regards to the torso and legs, the hair and head are different. Super Heroes minifig collectors may find this a worthwhile pick once it is released a couple of months from now.
Another noticeable difference is the color of Supergirl’s Toy Tag base. Unlike other LEGO Dimensions characters with their translucent blue toy tag base, Supergirl seems to have an orange base instead. This could suggest that the next series of characters will either have a similarly colored base to distinguish them from the previous waves, or it could be an E3 promotional.
In any case, such reveal is a good indicator that a LEGO Dimensions Green Arrow might officially debut soon. LEGO definitely has further plans in store for its toys-to-life hit video game, especially that the release date for LEGO Dimensions’ last wave of characters (Wave 5) is almost a month away. Wave 5 marks the end of support for the current LEGO Dimensions including the Slimer Fun Pack (71241), the Ninjago Lloyd Fun Pack (71239), and DC Bane Fun Pack (71240), all of which are due for release on May 31st.
