This ‘Reanimation’ of the Smash Bros Melee Intro Will Probably Tickle Some Funny Bones
Since its debut 17 years ago, Super Smash Bros has become one of Nintendo’s crossover gaming pillars. Its appeal lies in the concept of seeing your favorite Nintendo character battling it out with another gaming classic. Even with its initial roster of 12 playable characters, it was instantly a hit among Nintendo fans in the latter part of the 90s, with the potential of adding more video game characters in the list.
The line-up of additional characters tripled when Nintendo released its sequel, Super Smash Bros Melee in 2001. Launched for the GameCube platform, Nintendo sold more than 7 million copies worldwide and has enjoyed a torrent of positive reviews and feedback. With an emotionally charged intro that have captured the hearts of gaming fans, Super Smash Bros Melee is, and will still be, an icon that every Nintendo fan will remember with nostalgia.
In honor of this crossover classic, more than 30 animators collaborated in this re-telling of the Super Smash Bros Melee intro that brings out their own unique take on some of the most beloved characters in video game history. The people behind Reanimation Station really outdid themselves this time. If not for the game’s legendary musical score, I might end up laughing my heart out with this spoof.
